Stefanie

Tai Chi Chuan & Pilates · Introduction to Tai Chi and Qigong

Stefanie has had experience and training in many different fitness and movement disciplines but amongst her qualifications she is a Physical Mind Institute for mat and standing Pilates work, and through Balanced Body for Pilates apparatus, notably the Universal Reformer. She also has a BA in philosophy from the University of Massachusetts.

After two serious injuries in her youth, Stefanie began her lifelong love of movement with martial arts and yoga in the early 70s. She then began to study dance which remained her passion for several decades of study and performance. She still dances for her pleasure but now trains in Tai Chi Chuan and Pilates along with maintaining her personalized bodywork routine.

Stefanie views her teaching and training as an artist, helping to move the people she works with toward symmetry and harmony, bringing them into balance within their bodies. She focuses on posture, alignment, and breath, working to correct poor neuromuscular patterns and habits, and resolve lingering injury issues. She listens to and learns from her clients and students and takes great delight in her work.
