Racquetball Director Since 2011
Alex Montano
Cameraman by day, racquetball by night. A photojournalist for a popular television station here in the Bay Area, Alex has been leading the racquetball program at Alameda Fitness & Spa since 2011. Under his direction, our program has grown into a thriving community of players — from first-timers to seasoned competitors. "My dad taught me the game when I was just a young kid. I've loved it ever since. It is the best workout — it beats being on a treadmill for an hour!" 🤙🏽

A Championship Legacy
Before becoming Alameda Fitness & Spa, this facility was known as Mariner Square Athletic Club — one of the premier racquetball destinations in the region. With a deep-rooted history in the sport, these very courts have been the stage for countless state, national, and international racquetball championships.
That championship tradition lives on today. The same courts that hosted elite competitors from around the world are available to you every day as a member. When you step onto our courts, you're playing where champions have played.
